Compassionate Care for UK's Homeless

UK’s Homeless

According to Homeless Link, the number of rough sleepers in the UK has risen by 134% since 2010. Over four thousand people were counted or estimated by local authorities to be sleeping rough in the UK on any one night in autumn 2016

The Rapid Relief Team supports Homeless events across the UK. These events provide a direct connection between UK’s homeless and the services they need. Our volunteers provide catered breakfasts and lunches for the homeless, along with all volunteers in attendance. Below are a couple of examples of the many homeless initiatives that RRT support.

RRT Perth donates rough sleeping supplies to CATH

In February 2020, RRT Perth made a donation of RRT sleeping bags, bottled water, woolly hats and hygiene packs to Churches Action for The Homeless (CATH).

Assisting NOAH during Storm Dennis

The local RRT team served over 100 meals for the homeless in Luton, at the Noah Welfare Centre on Saturday 15th February 2020. Hot meals were particularly welcome in the strong winds and heavy rain of Storm Dennis.

CEO Sleepout

The Thaxted RRT team supported a CEO Sleepout breakfast, for a homeless charity called Winter Comfort. There were approx 50 people sleeping out and The Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Gerri Bird, came along in the morning to show her support for this cause.

Nottingham Canaan Trust

In Nottingham, RRT offers catering support to the Canaan Trust events held annually. Our volunteers erect marquess and BBQ trailers to serve up hot catered breakfasts and sunny smiles.

Liverpool's Big Sleepout

In Liverpool, RRT also supports Liverpool’s Big Sleepout – serving breakfast to about 300 people sleeping rough to raise awareness for homelessness.

How can you help?

RRT are now donating Hygiene Kits for men and women as part of our ongoing support for UK’s homeless.

For every quantity of Hygiene Kits you purchase, RRT will donate the same directly to a Homeless Charity or Homeless event in your region.
