On Saturday 25th January, Kirkcaldy RRT was happy to support Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, at their Rabbie Burns Firewalk Challenge. Over 75 Burger Meals we served and approximately £150 in donations raised at this fundraising event.
More About Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland
Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland seeks to increase public awareness and understanding of individuals with spina bifida and / or hydrocephalus and allied conditions. It aims to support all those affected to identify their needs and to empower them to make informed choices and decisions.
The charity believes that no one in Scotland should be left alone to cope with the affects of these conditions and, for over 50 years, has provided a lifetime commitment of specialist support and information.
Every year, the information on their website is accessed over 55,000 times. Their Scotland-wide services are available to over 4,000 children, young people and adults through a helpline, workshops, individual and family support, home and hospital visits, youth clubs, health check clinics, one to one key workers and respite.
It costs over £1 million every year to provide their extensive specialist services and, with little statutory funding, the charity relies almost solely on the generosity of those who give their time and money to the cause.
